Library Foundation

The Franklin County Library Foundation, Inc. is a charitable organization whose mission is to promote, encourage, support, and aid the Franklin County Library in its existing and future enterprises. The foundation was established in 2007 to take advantage of the efforts and residual funds of the Franklin County Library Capital Campaign, Inc. which was organized in 2003 to help raise funds for the new Franklin County Library in Rocky Mount.

The foundation has established an endowment. It solicits contributions to the endowment and uses earnings to support the mission. The foundation is a charitable organization under Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code, and donations are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.

Westlake Branch

As part of its mission, and separate from its endowment, the foundation in 2007 organized a capital campaign to raise funds for a new, branch library at Westlake, specifically to help establish a more robust library beyond the basic, core library funded by the Franklin County government. The foundation's Westlake Library Capital Campaign Committee continues to seek donations to support the library's collection and purchase other items needed by the WestLake Library.
