SHERIFF PLANS ANOTHER CRASE EVENT Due to incredible demand, Sheriff Bill Overton announces another CRASE event on Wed, March 28, 2018. CRASE (Citizen's Response to Active Shooter Events) The class will be held at the Franklin Center, 50 Claiborne Avenue in Rocky Mount and Sheriff Overton is making it FREE to all who pre-register. Times are from 6PM - 8PM. You can ONLY pre-register by calling the Franklin Center at 540-483-0179, as seating is limited. The last two seminars filled quickly, so make your calls today. SHERIFF'S OFFICE IS REACCREDITED
Sheriff Bill Overton and his Command Staff were in Manassas, VA last week for a review of the Virginia Law Enforcement Professional Standards Commission’s reaccreditation process. The commission voted unanimously to award a certification. See full story (below) in the attached Franklin News Post article.
On 2/9, FCSO conducted a drug interdiction in various locations. The activity produced 10 Felony Arrests and 17 Misdemeanor Arrests. See our Facebook "Standing Watch" page for a more detailed breakdown. Narcotics Unit, Patrol Officers and K-9 Units were utilized in this series of interdictions and arrests. Another great team effort by our officers.
